One of the most important studies to be undertaken in assessing the feasibility of a slipsheet program is a cost comparison with a wooden pallet program. Pregmon [see note 1 below] has carried out detailed cost comparison analyses.

From the table below, it can be seen that in only the first year, the cost of a slipsheet program is only US$25,000 compared to the much higher costs for the pallets program (US$127,875) and the dual slipsheet/pallet program (US$109,350)..
